Chapter 8

Theo invaded her space. With his large body, he backed her into the elevator and slapped the interior button to ascend but never stopped moving and pressed her up against the wall. Her body purred as he claimed her lips.

His sinful mouth ravaged hers as the elevator took them up to her place. She leaned in to him, hungry for more of his touch. The man kissed her with his entire being, ensuring she felt every tendril and spark of kinetic energy as it flowed between them. Need erupted inside her as she returned his passionate kiss. Piper exulted in being able to touch him, in the fact that her hands weren’t restrained so she could feel his power and potency. Her hands worked at the buttons on his dress shirt, yearning to feel his chest, his body, all of him beneath her touch. She wanted to commit him to memory, to remember when she was home in Santa Barbara, alone and needing sustenance.

He growled into her mouth as she teased the flat disks of his nipples, scratching her nails through his pelt of dark hair. Theo hoisted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her from the elevator. He made a direct beeline for her bed, stripping her dress off over her head as he transported them with his determined stride.

Hurry, hurry, hurry.

The words played in her mind like a mantra. Piper was beyond ready, needing to feel him. She shoved at his dress coat and shirt, nearly ripping them from him in her impatience.

He chuckled roguishly at her eagerness as he released her mouth. She whined in protest. Then he tugged her nipple into his mouth as he lay her down on the bed. She arched her back, feeding him her mound of flesh. Her fingers slid into his feather-soft dark hair, holding his lips at her breast. Christ, the man had a talented mouth. Desire raced through her veins.

Theo released her breast. He hovered over her, the sensual hunger in his expression causing every nerve ending in her body to tremble in anticipation. But it had become more than just scratching an itch for Piper. Theo moved her, not just with his touch, but with who he was at the core of his being. Her hand caressed his cheek, marveling over the strength in his jawline, marveling at him, and knowing deep inside that there was no place else she’d rather be. He gripped her hand, placing a tender kiss in her palm and rubbing his stubble-lined jaw against it.

Then Theo acted like an explorer, caressing, tasting, and nibbling on every part of her body. He suckled her neglected breast until that nipple pointed proudly toward the ceiling from his attention. He nibbled on the delicate undersides of her breasts, teasing her with his tongue. Placing playful love bites over her abdomen, Theo monitored her every reaction to his touch.

By the time his dark head was hovering between her splayed thighs, Piper’s blood was humming in eagerness.
